O AMICOR Sérgio Luis Bassanesi que tem se dedicado a estudos sobre determinação Social de Saúde e Doenças, entre os quais (em colaboração com outra AMICOR Maria Inês Reinert Azambuja) os relacionados com Mortalidade Precoce por Doenças Cardiovasculares em Porto Alegre, premiado no Congresso da SBC de São Paulo e agora entre os três finalistas para a área de Epidemiologia entre os melhores artigos do ano dos Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, vai colaborar com o International Institute for Health and Society, dirigido por Sir Michael Marmot.

 The UCL International Institute for Society and Health is a unique multidisciplinary collaboration of leading academics, working on health and society in a global context in conjunction with the Commission on Social Determinants of Health (CSDH) established by WHO. The Institute brings together renowned leaders in the disciplines of Anthropology, Development, Economics, Epidemiology, Medicine and Sociology from different UCL departments, to work collaboratively on global health problems.
