Bisphenol-A Linked to Male Sexual Dysfunction

Bisphenol-A (BPA) hardens plastic but appears to be associated with the opposite effect in men.

That's the conclusion of a cohort study of sexual dysfunction among more than 500 Chinese workers, some of whom were exposed to high levels of the controversial chemical in their workplace.

The workers with high-level BPA exposure reported significantly higher levels of sexual dysfunction than workers whose jobs kept them away from the compound, De-Kun Li, MD, PhD, of Kaiser Permanente's Division of Research in Oakland, Calif., and colleagues reported online in Human Reproduction./.../
