Countries hit by health threats of infectious and chronic diseases

13 May 2011 -- The World Health Statistics 2011released today shows that many countries are facing a double burden of disease. The prevalence of risk factors for chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases and cancers is increasing while many countries are still struggling to reduce maternal and child deaths caused by infectious diseases.
