Neuro immunology

Mental health disorders, such as depression, represent a substantial proportion of the economic burden on health care systems worldwide. Depression is a complex illness, with a multitude of triggers and causes. In an effort to treat this illness, the pharmaceutical industry has developed a range of drugs targeting neurotransmitters in the brain. However, many times the drugs don’t work—because of the complexity of psychiatric disorders, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
