BERLIN -- Measuring pressure in the pulmonary artery with a device activated by a radiofrequency signal may reduce repeat hospitalizations for heart failure by 30% compared with standard therapy. In this exclusive InFocus video report, the lead investigator of the pivotal trial of this devices walks us through the findings.
According to William T. Abraham, MD, of Ohio State University in Columbus, the paper-clip sized Pulmonary Artery Pressure Measure System is the first big advance in the treatment of heart failure in more than a decade.
