The first birth has been achieved following the analysis of embryos using a new genome-sequencing technique that promises to revolutionize embryo selection for in vitro fertilization (IVF).

The technique, which has never before been applied in the screening of embryos, was reported July 8 at the annual meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology(ESHRE) by Dr. Dagan Wells of the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at the University of Oxford, UK./.../
