In the EU, some 26 million children and young people are threatened by poverty or social exclusion. The social justice gap in Europe runs most strongly between north and south and between young and old. These are the central findings of Bertelsmann Stiftung’s most recent Social Justice Index report examining all EU member states. The index results are as follows:
