MIT’s modular plug-and-play blocks allow for building medical diagnostic devices [image: Tiny 1/2-inch low-cost “Ampli blocks” can be assembled to create diagnostic devices. The blocks, which simply consist of a tiny sheet of paper or glass fiber sandwiched between a plastic or metal block and a glass cover, snap together to form a diagnostic procedure. Essential Dx Tests
First-ever WHO list of essential diagnostic tests to improve diagnosis and treatment Today, many people are unable to get tested for diseases because they cannot access diagnostic services. Many are incorrectly diagnosed. As a result, they do not receive the treatment they need and, in some cases, may receive the wrong treatment. To address this gap, WHO has published its first Essential Diagnostics List, a catalogue of 113 tests needed to diagnose the most common conditions as well as a number of priority diseases.
