Art Prints

Art Prints from Brain Pickings

I'm thrilled to announce a little something a long time in the making: Art Pickings – a collection of high-quality art prints from the Brain Pickings editorial archive, spanning natural history and astronomical art, antique maps, children's book illustration, and more. Some are treasures I have discovered in and restored from forgotten public domain books. Others are original illustrations by friends and collaborators. Nearly all have a charitable component, with a portion of the proceeds going to a relevant nonprofit. (For instance, Art Young's stunning Rorschach tree silhouettes from the 1920s support the beautiful and necessary work of the Arbor Day Foundation; the trailblazing celestial art of the self-taught 17th-century artist and astronomer Maria Clara Eimmart benefits the endeavor to build New York City's first-ever public observatory; 100% of proceeds from these contemporary illustrations celebrating books and reading go to the New York Public Library.
